 Summary:

A set textbook at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry since publication, Newt Scamander’s masterpiece has entertained wizarding families through the generations. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an indispensable introduction to the magical beasts of the wizarding world.

Scamander’s years of travel and research have created a tome of unparalleled importance. Some of the beasts will be familiar to readers of the Harry Potter books – the Hippogriff, the Basilisk, the Hungarian Horntail… others will surprise even the most ardent amateur Magizoologist.

Narrated by Eddie Redmayne, this is the first audio book edition of Scamander’s textbook ever to be released. Having starred as Newt Scamander himself in the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, who better to narrate this Hogwarts Library book from one of the wizarding world’s most famous Magizoologists? Eddie’s film credits include The Danish Girl, My Week with Marilyn, Les Misérables and The Theory of Everything, for which he won a Golden Globe, an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for Best Actor.

Review:

It’s not news to anybody that I absolutely adored the Fantastic Beasts movie. Imagine my excitement when I found out that Eddie Redmayne (aka Movie Newt) is the narrator for the new audiobook! And if that wasn’t enough…the book is set to release on my birthday! Better believe I preordered that faster than I ever had before.

There are lots of familiar beasts from the Harry Potter books and new ones that I first remember hearing about in the Fantastic Beasts movie and some that were brand new to me all together. It was fun hearing about them and learning how the Ministry chooses to classify each one.

What I really came for, however, was Eddie reading the book as Newt. IT WAS SO FREAKIN’ AMAZING. This was everything I wanted and I’m so glad I shelled out for it even though it’s a short audiobook because listening to him made me beyond happy. It was the best birthday present I could have received from the universe.

Final Verdict:

If you loved Eddie as Newt than I can pretty much guarantee that you’ll love this book. Borrow it, buy it, eavesdrop on someone else that is listening to it. Do whatever you have to in order to listen to this book! I will definitely be doing a reread very soon!transparent signature
